International workshop at Free University Berlin, organised by Frank Fischer and Bart Soethaert, project Digital Observatory of World Literature. MiMoText team members Dr. Maria Hinzmann and Tinghui Duan will give a talk on “Linked Open Data for Literary History: Constructing, Querying and Using the MiMoTextBase“.
With the advent of digital platforms for collaborative information processing, the workshop aims to explore the vast potential of utilizing Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikibase for literary analysis and research. During this interactive workshop, participants will engage in brainstorming and co-exploration sessions to uncover the diverse usage scenarios of these semantically networked platforms for literary studies. They will examine the possibilities of leveraging queries and APIs to extract relevant information, develop new research questions, analyse linked data, and explore available metrics and tools. These enable to gain insight in the collaborative and self-regulating processes of knowledge aggregation about literature, its authors, topics, and historical contexts.
